On May 1, 2025, Stewart Title Insurance Company merged with our parent company, Stewart Title Guaranty Company (STGC). Each of our offices and policy-issuing agents can expect to receive the same exceptional underwriting services from our team. All policy forms, endorsements, amendments, updates, agents and authorization letters will be issued by, or in the name of, STGC. Please be sure that all affidavits and escrow agreements all make reference to STGC.
As a part of our merger, we are updating our requests for policy approval and shifting to using an internal underwriting function within Stewart Connect, our proprietary underwriting platform, to process all requests for policy approval. All requests for policy approval must still be accompanied by the Policy Approval Request form (which forms remain the same) and sent to HighLiPolicy@Stewart.com. You can also send requests for policy approval to PolicyApprovalRequest@Stewart.com. Reinsurance requests are no longer needed. You will no longer receive an automated e-mail when the file is assigned, but you should receive an acknowledgment from the underwriting counsel assigned to the file within 48 hours. Once approved, you will receive an e-mail reflecting your approval and any conditions from our Stewart Underwriting Team at StewartConnectAdminUnderwitingTeam@Stewart.com. Please be sure that this e-mail address has been added to your approved contacts.
Please also be sure to review our Bulletin NY000718 2025 Reminder Bulletin for an overview on matters that constitute extra-hazardous risks and require requests for policy approval. In addition, please be sure to include pro forma policies with your requests for policy approval. Since the updated TIRSA Rate Manual went into effect on October 1, 2024, we cannot provide affirmative coverage in the Schedule B of title policies or outside of an approved endorsement.
