Stewart Title Insurance Company has been advised that the Nassau County Clerks computer systems relating to the real property index are not reporting the status of the public record correctly and the most recent data (with the last 90 days) is not available. Accordingly in the event you have a title closing on Stewart Title Insurance Company you must first contact the legal department for clearance on each transaction before the matter is closed. We apologize in advance for this extra step however we must be prudent in providing title insurance on transactions given the county’s current computer issues. Stewart will be approaching each transaction on a per case basis. Once Nassau County has confirmed the public record is accurate and available to search, we will remove this restriction.
